Send your M-Pesa screenshots to WhatsApp. Mafanikio does the bookkeeping — for your business and personal finances. We're in early beta and building this with your feedback.
No app to download. No forms. Just WhatsApp.
How it works
Click the button on this page or scan the QR code. Tell us your business name and type. That's it — you're set up. Dakika mbili tu.
Every time you receive or send money, screenshot the M-Pesa confirmation and send it to Mafanikio. We read the message, ask if it's business or personal, and do the bookkeeping.
"How is my business doing?" "Who is my best customer?" "Am I saving money?" — Just ask, and Mafanikio answers with real numbers from your records. Pesa yako, maarifa yako.
What you get
See how much your business is making or losing — this month, this week, today. No more guessing.
Business income and expenses in one book. Personal spending in another. See both — and how they connect.
Who buys from you the most? Who spends the most? Mafanikio remembers every customer automatically.
Transactions are cryptographically chained so alterations can be detected. This is an experimental feature we're testing during beta.
Mafanikio sets targets based on your history: "Beat last week's KES 28,000!" It celebrates when you do.
After a few months, you'll have a clear history of your income and expenses. Understanding your own numbers is the first step to growing your business.
Your complete picture
This month, your household saved
That's what's left after business expenses and personal spending. Hongera!
Questions
Mafanikio is in early testing. The core features work — screenshot reading, bookkeeping, reports — but we're still improving accuracy and adding features. Things may change, and we rely on your feedback to make it better. Beta testers get free access while we build.
Yes, during beta it's completely free. We haven't decided on long-term pricing yet. Our goal is to keep core bookkeeping accessible and affordable for small businesses, but we're honest that we're still figuring out the sustainable model.
We take data security seriously. Your data is encrypted and stored securely, and we never share your information with third parties. You can export or delete all your data at any time. As an early-stage product, we are working toward full compliance with Kenya's Data Protection Act but are not yet registered with the ODPC.
No. Mafanikio works entirely inside WhatsApp — the app you already use every day. No separate downloads, no passwords. You'll answer a few quick setup questions (language, business name, business type) and you're ready to go.
Mafanikio tries to check your M-Pesa balance from each screenshot. If the numbers don't add up, it lets you know some transactions may be missing. You can add them later or let Mafanikio note the gap. This balance-checking feature is still being refined during beta.
English and Kiswahili. You choose your preferred language when you start, and you can switch anytime.
Yes! Mafanikio keeps two separate books — one for your business and one for personal spending. You see both, plus a combined view showing your total household savings. For every transaction, just tell Mafanikio if it's business or personal.
Right now, Mafanikio works with Personal M-Pesa — you send screenshots and we handle the rest. In the future, we'd like to explore Pochi la Biashara detection and direct M-Pesa API integration for Till and Paybill accounts, but those features are not yet available.
Not directly — Mafanikio is not a tax tool and is not integrated with KRA. However, it organizes your income and expenses by category, which can give you a useful starting point when it's time to file. Always consult a qualified tax advisor for your returns.
For now, yes — Mafanikio is built for M-Pesa transactions in Kenya. If there's enough demand, we'd like to expand to other mobile money services and regions in East Africa. One step at a time.
No. Mafanikio is not a bank, financial institution, or licensed financial advisor. It's a bookkeeping tool that helps you organize your own M-Pesa records. It is not approved or regulated by any Kenyan financial authority. Your records are for personal insight only — not for official or regulatory purposes.
Your data is yours. You can export everything at any time — all transactions, categories, and reports. If Mafanikio ever shuts down, our goal is to give you advance notice so you can download your data. We recommend exporting regularly during beta.
Two minutes to set up. No app. No cost during beta. Just clarity about your money — starting today.
